Amboli Hill Station
When you hear the name Amboli Hill Station, It immediately remembers the big waterfall of Amboli, the whirlwind velvet mountain, the heavy rain falling constantly, fog everywhere. Amboli is situated at an altitude of 690 meters above sea level. Kolhapur to Amboli distance is 120 Kms. Our next destination was this beautiful place in western ghats. But not only for the day time trip to enjoy waterfalls and click some green landscapes, but to enjoy the night jungle trails at Amboli for getting some information about snakes, lizards, frogs and other species. We left Latur in the morning at 7 O’clock and reached at 7 in the evening. We have already done booking of rooms at Hotel Vrundavan, Near Bus stand, Amboli Cheapest hotel in Amboli. If you are planning to visit Amboli on weekends then you must book the hotel before leaving otherwise it will be very difficult to get rooms at this place on weekends. Kolhapur, Panjim, Belgavi, sawantwadi these places are near from Amboli Hill Station. so there will be rush on weekends.
anyway, we reached to the hotel, kept the luggage and left for the dinner. someone has told us that there is one small hotel Viz. Hotel Deepak but its food quality is very good so we have decided to go there and eat some tasty food and really it was awesome taste.

KAKA BHISE, Famous personality of Amboli and very famous among the nature lovers. With him we have to go in to the forest for night trails. He have a good knowledge of nature, snakes, frogs, lizards, spiders and everything which found in the jungle of Amboli. You ask him anything, the answer is ready, There will be no disappointment. so we were on the move to the jungle with the torch in everyone’s hand to find any species. After sometime we have seen our first Malabar Pit Viper. Small in the size but deadly poisonous.

clicked some photos and moved to the next species and found Malabar Gliding Frog in the quantity. some of them were mating and also seen foam nesting of Malabar Gliding Frog.

This is very beautiful frog, green in color, we have seen this frog for the first time so there was some excitement. Clicked some good photos of Malabar Gliding Frog, Geckos, Snakes and other species too. we did not understand that it was almost 12 in the night. after taking some more photos we returned to the hotel. Next day we visited famous Nangartas Waterfall, Kavleshet Point and other places near Amboli.
